You Are Not Stuck. You Are in Transition.

There is a specific reason why your life can look successful and feel incomplete at the same time. It has a name, a framework, and a way through. Sebastian Njagi is a Transition Literacy Coach and the author of fourteen books. He helps professionals aged 35 to 55 navigate the most defining phase of adult life — using their own personal story as the map.

This Is the Phase Nobody Prepares You For

You have worked hard. You have met your obligations — career, family, the responsibilities that come with being an established person in your community. By most visible measures, your life is a success.

But there is a question that keeps returning. Quiet, persistent, and harder to ignore than it used to be:

"Is this the life I intended to build — or the life that simply happened to me while I was busy being responsible?"

If that question is familiar, you are not in crisis. You are not ungrateful or confused. You are in a transition — the Legacy Phase transition — and it begins not at fifty, but at thirty-five.

What you are feeling is not a problem to fix. It is a signal to understand.

Life Moves in Three Phases. Most People Only Know About the First Two.

Understanding the 3-PPAM changes how you see what you are experiencing — and what to do about it. Once you know which phase you are in, your restlessness stops feeling like a character flaw and starts making sense.

1

Phase One — Foundations

Who Am I?

Teens to late twenties

The phase of identity. You are discovering who you are, where you belong, and what you believe - often while navigating family expectations and economic pressure.

⚡ When stuck: Identity crisis - "Where do I fit?"

2

Phase Two — Clarity

What Can I Do?

Late twenties to mid-thirties

The phase of achievement. You are building your career, establishing your household, proving your value. This phase is driven by accomplishment and rightly so.

⚡ When stuck: Quarter-life crisis - "Am I on the right path?"

★ You Are Here

3

Phase Three — Legacy

What Does It All Mean?

Mid-thirties to fifties and beyond

The phase of meaning. You have proven yourself. Now your system is asking a harder question: does this life align with who I am becoming? What is my unique contribution? What will I leave behind?

⚡ When not navigated: What society calls the "midlife crisis"

"The Legacy Phase does not begin at fifty. It begins at thirty-five. If you are in your late thirties or early forties and feeling this way — you are not early. You are right on time."

— Sebastian Njagi, From Chaos to Peace: Transition to Midlife

Your Personal Story Is the Map

Most coaching helps you set goals or manage your emotions. Sebastian's approach goes deeper. After writing fourteen books including two memoirs  and working with individuals through their most defining transitions, he has found that the most reliable path through a major life transition is not a generic process. It is your own story, read with the right framework.

Discover

Use your story to uncover your personal meaning. What actually matters to you at this phase of life  not in theory, but in practice? What has your experience been pointing you towards that you have not yet had the language or permission to name?

Organise

Use that meaning to reorganise the practical architecture of your life  your relationships, your finances, your time, your priorities. Clarity without reorganisation stays abstract. This stage brings your external life into alignment with your internal truth.

Design

Use that clarity to design a lifestyle that is genuinely fulfilling. Not one that meets someone else's definition of success. One that reflects who you are now  built on what you have created, no longer limited by what others have defined for you.

About Sebastian

The Work Comes From the Journey

Sebastian Njagi is a Transition Literacy Coach, the founder of Read & Lead Publishers, and the author of fourteen books — including two memoirs that document his own navigation of life's most defining transitions.

The first memoir, From Chaos to Peace: Critical Moments of Transition, traces his journey from a period of personal chaos — carrying unresolved baggage and chronic uncertainty — through a process of genuine self-examination to a place of clarity and purpose.

"I thought I had found the map and arrived. Then life moved to the next phase."

The second memoir, From Chaos to Peace: Transition to Midlife, documents his navigation of the Legacy Phase — the quiet, persistent restlessness that arrived even after he had built something real. The 3-Phase Personal Awareness Model and the Discover-Organise-Design process emerged from living through it deliberately.

Sebastian studied at Alliance High School and the University of Nairobi's School of Business. He is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
